Product Information

DermaSwim Pre-Swimming Lotion is a specialized skincare product designed to create a protective barrier on your skin before swimming in chlorinated water. Its unique, advanced formula prevents chlorine and other harsh pool chemicals from penetrating and damaging your skin, while still allowing your skin to breathe naturally.

DermaSwim products are formulated using primarily natural ingredients (97.5% Natural). DermaSwim is made with: Coconut Oil known for its moisturizing properties to keep the skin hydrated, Beeswax as a natural emollient that forms a protective barrier to retain moisture, Aloe Vera (Aloe Barbadensis) offering soothing and moisturizing benefits for the skin, and Green Tea Extract (Camellia Sinensis) rich in antioxidants, providing protective effects.

We rigorously test DermaSwim products for extensive hours in pools and hot tubs before introducing them to the public. Over the years, tens of thousands of swimmers, including children, adults engaging in exercise or leisure swimming, individuals in aqua therapy, and serious competitors, have utilized DermaSwim products without any reported adverse reactions. Nevertheless, as a precautionary measure, we recommend conducting a patch test on a small area before widespread use to ensure compatibility with your skin type, as is advised with all lotions.

Unlike regular lotions that wash off in water or sunscreens that only protect against UV rays, DermaSwim is specifically formulated to shield your skin from chlorine and other pool chemicals. Our water-resistant formula creates a bond with your skin that remains effective even during extended swimming sessions, providing specialized protection that regular skincare products can't offer.

These chemicals are necessary to keep pools clean and free of germs, bacteria, and more. That's a good thing. Unfortunately, many people are seriously affected by these agents, including side effects such as itching, drying and pool rash. Those who experience these should find significant relief by using DermaSwim, and enjoy their swims a great deal more than they used to. Even if you don't notice excessive drying and itching, the repeated contact with chlorine is not good for your skin long term. It makes sense to protect your skin before a problem occurs, as well as when one already has.

Usage Instructions

For best results, apply DermaSwim to clean, dry skin before entering the water. Use a generous amount and spread evenly over all exposed skin areas, paying special attention to face, neck, and areas prone to dryness or irritation. Allow the product to fully absorb before swimming. One application provides protection for up to 4 hours of continuous swimming.

Absolutely not! You can leave it on. DermaSwim Pro will absorb into your skin, leaving it soft and moisturized. Following a swim or hot tub session, a simple rinse in the shower to remove pool or hot tub water is sufficient. No more scrubbing rituals, and no post-swim itch or dryness. Just beautifully moisturized skin!

We have received feedback from our customers suggesting that the optimal method involves applying DermaSwim, allowing it to absorb for a few minutes or longer, and subsequently applying sunblock over it. Nevertheless, it is advisable to conduct a patch test on a small area of your skin with both products to ensure compatibility before widespread use.

We suggest two simple routines. One, change into your suit, apply DermaSwim Pro to your skin, then enter the shower and rinse off without using soap. The DermaSwim is waterproof and won't come off with a light rinse. Or, take a soapy shower before your swim, dry off, put your DermaSwim on, swim, then just rinse off the pool water without using soap. Either way, you've met the requirement, and you're ready for a swim with your protective lotion on.

DermaSwim Pro is waterproof, and does not rinse off in the pool. In fact, we believe that using DermaSwim products keeps pools cleaner since dry skin is sealed in rather than flaking off in the water. Pool Facilities should appreciate this characteristic.

For Children & Families

DermaSwim products are typically safe for children's skin; however, we strongly advise against using DermaSwim on children or infants who need to be carried. DermaSwim can make the skin extremely slippery when wet. Only apply DermaSwim to children who can walk on their own and do not require carrying. Additionally, adhere to the regular instructions, which include never applicating DermaSwim to the bottoms of the feet.

Apply DermaSwim to your child's clean, dry skin before swim lessons. Use a slightly lighter application than you would for adults, focusing on exposed areas. Be careful around the eyes and help younger children avoid touching their eyes after application. Remember, never apply to the bottoms of feet, and only use with children who can walk on their own.

Many children with eczema have found DermaSwim beneficial as it prevents chlorine from triggering flare-ups. However, we recommend consulting with a healthcare professional before use. We also suggest doing a patch test 24 hours before full application. Apply to a small area of unaffected skin and monitor for any reactions before using it more extensively.

DermaSwim is formulated to be gentle, but like most topical products, it may cause temporary discomfort if it gets directly in the eyes. We recommend being careful during application around the eye area and teaching children not to touch their eyes after application. If the product does get into the eyes, rinse thoroughly with clean water.

We get many emails about various skin conditions. We feel empathy for all of them and want to help. However, we can't diagnose conditions. We recommend asking your healthcare provider if they think DermaSwim will help the situation. It might be a good idea to take them the ingredients list. DermaSwim seems to help with many issues related to chlorine and bromine, so we're hopeful it could help with your situation too.

Benefits & Results

Yes, many users with eczema report significant reduction in chlorine-triggered flare-ups when using DermaSwim. By creating a protective barrier that prevents chlorine from directly contacting the skin, DermaSwim helps reduce irritation and inflammation that typically leads to eczema flares after swimming. However, we always recommend consulting with your healthcare provider before trying any new product if you have a diagnosed skin condition.

Our current Pre-Swimming Lotion is designed specifically for skin protection. While some swimmers apply a small amount to their hairline, it's not formulated for full hair protection. We're excited to announce that our upcoming DermaSwim Shampoo and Conditioner are specifically designed to address chlorine damage to hair and will be available soon.

Yes! One of the benefits many users notice is a significant reduction in the lingering chlorine smell that typically remains on skin after swimming. Because DermaSwim prevents chlorine from binding to proteins in your skin and hair, that characteristic post-swimming chlorine odor is dramatically reduced when you use our product before swimming.

While DermaSwim was primarily developed to protect against chlorine and pool chemicals, many users report that it also helps reduce incidents of swimmer's itch and other waterborne skin irritations. The protective barrier it creates helps prevent various irritants from contacting your skin, whether in pools, lakes, or oceans.

We get this question a lot. We never scientifically tested whether there's a difference. Some people feel they swim a little faster with it, some don't notice a speed difference. One common report is that your skin feels much better in the water with DermaSwim Pro than without, which may make you feel faster!
